History

ELECTRO HIDRÁULICA LLEVANT S.A. traces its origins back to 1971 in Capdepera (Mallorca), when it began operating as Electrificaciones Gomila S.A. with a team of ten employees. In its early years, the company focused primarily on the agricultural industry, delivering electrical installations and hydraulic systems for groundwater extraction and wastewater pumping.

As the tourism industry boomed in the Balearic Islands, the company expanded into hotel installations, public infrastructure and related services, evolving in both technology and scope.

Following a restructuring of its shareholding, Electrificaciones Gomila S.A. became ELECTRO HIDRÁULICA S.A. in December 1980, with José Riera, one of the founding partners, at the helm. Under his leadership, the company further developed its structure and laid the foundations for the growth that would shape the following decade.

The 1980s marked a period of strong growth, positioning the company as a leading name in the Balearic Islands. During this period, the foundations were laid for a multidisciplinary installation company, delivering end-to-end services (electrical, plumbing and climate control) and creating an in-house Technical Office of specialised engineers and technicians.

In the 1990s, the company continued to expand with the creation of its Telecommunications Department, bringing in specialist engineers and technicians and delivering projects in television, telephony, data networks, background music and public address systems.

After many years of success and sustained growth, the 2008 economic crisis prompted a strategic shift. Coinciding with a generational change in leadership, a demerger process began in August 2010, culminating in the creation of ELECTRO HIDRÁULICA LLEVANT S.A. in September 2010.

In 2011, as new technological demands emerged, the company launched its ICT Department, with specialist engineers and technicians in smart home and automation systems, allowing for the intelligent monitoring and control of all building systems.

In 2015, Pedro Riera, a second-generation family member, took over as General Manager after several years leading the ICT Department.

Under his leadership, the company is further advancing its focus on innovation, energy efficiency and end-to-end systems, while preserving the values and philosophy that have guided ELECTRO HIDRÁULICA LLEVANT since the outset.

Today, with over 50 years of experience and more than 4000 projects delivered in the Balearic Islands, ELECTRO HIDRÁULICA LLEVANT S.A. is a leading company in end-to-end installations, renowned for its comprehensive service, technical expertise and innovative spirit.
